vacay part 2

Then we got some sunshine!  And went for a zipline adventure up in the mountains.  It was so fun!  (and a little scary)

that's me!

and had this delicious guacamole and salsa. mmmmmmm.

we spent some time just laying around outside at the hotel which was really nice. just looking at the ocean and mountains.

we got to see some little sea turtles swim out to sea!  (that's one there at the bottom)

and of course there's always people watching!  this 40-something guy left his lounge chair by the pool, dug a huge hole in the sand, and proceeded to do a series of handstands... by himself.  just a little odd.

we had a great time!

saying goodbye was hard, but we missed our little guy!

vacay part 1

We got to go on our first 'adults only' vacation this month while Nana took care of E for us.  Here's a few pics.

Blayton was a little bummed that it was cloudy when we got there.  (but happy we saved money by going in the off-season :)  We went into the city to shop, look around, see the people, and eat dinner.

watch out for crocodiles!

we found the Starbucks!
this statue was a little creepy...

impressive sand sculpture.  there were people all along the beach doing things to make a little extra money.  sand sculptures, stacking rocks, selling lemonade, art, etc.

but these guys had the most dangerous job.  they just take a rope, tie a knot around their waist, and wind it around the pole.  then spin down above a bunch of rocks.  no biggie.

the pirate ship everyone kept trying to sell us tickets to.  :)

our hotel!

what we've been up to

Our E man is growing up so fast!  He'll be 18 months soon and we can hardly believe it.

He still loves being outside and all things associated with that.  For us that means cleaning daddy's shed, bike rides, playing at the park, getting dirty, and climbing ladders (yes you read that right).

dad, its a mess in here!

go faster, mom!

I want in the big boy swing!

am I not supposed to sit in here?

It still blows our minds that he understands so much already.  If we go on a bike ride, and turn toward the house before going by the park he recognizes where we are and gets upset.  He'll bring you things you ask him for or go find something.  Sometimes he'll pick things up and put them back where they go (which I love!).  He definitely understands what 'no' means - he just chooses whether or not to listen to it.

He's not saying too much more, but he has a few phrases that we recognize - 'tank tu' (thank you), 'what's this', and recently 'oh yeah' and 'oh wow'.    Lately he likes to make this noise like 'phhhth' and shake his head when he gets fuzz or dirt in his mouth.  He also does it when he doesn't like the texture of something like oranges or eggs.

And he has such a personality.  He is very opinionated and very silly (especially with his dad).  Oh, and he's obsessed with playing inside cars and trucks.  When anyone comes over he wants to stand in the driver's seat and play with all the buttons and such.  He even runs to the neighbors cars and tries to get in them.  (Thankfully we know our neighbors) :)

We are loving our little man.

E the builder

B and Pops have been building a shed in our back yard and E loooooves it.  It is his new favorite toy.  He likes to go out there and do whatever they do.  And the loud noises don't seem to scare him like they do Zoe.

He'll try to pick up anything no matter how heavy it is.  He tries to put the nails into the boards and will even clean up a little.  And the tape measure is always tons of fun.  Its very cute.
