more funnies

Our big little boy is so, so funny.  Probably just to us.  :)  Don't get me wrong he's emotional, whiny, and crazy sometimes.  But most of the time he is hilarious.  He likes to add words onto all of his sentences like more, yesterday, again, etc.  He also says "its kinda like" such and such when it actually is that thing. :)  And he'll tell you that something can't be true because "that'd be silly" even if it actually is true.  He likes to listen for noises and say "you hear sumpting?" "somebody's here?".  Some of his words sound exactly the same - like buddies and bunnies - and we go round and round and laugh about which word he is saying.

  

Here are some funny quotes:

• "I'm still hungry more.  My tummy's not full yet."
• When talking about a booger going down the drain in the tub "Booger went down there to the booger mama and daddy"
• When he realizes his movie is almost over "I want to watch the veginnings not the ends"
• When we see a car out that looks like a race car "That's not the car in the movie.  He doesn't have eyes"
• When his baby brother has to take a nap "I don't want him sleep.  I want him play.  With his  toys.  Not my toys."
• After noticing daddy's facial hair "I don't have a beard or mustache yet.  Maybe for Christmas" 
• Any time he notices a toy he hasn't played with in a while "I been looking from that!" 
• Me: "Do you like salad?",  E (without pause): "I'm not a girl."
• E (after going #2 in the potty): "there's chocolate in there?",   Me (confused and then realizing he's talking about his poop)  "no, I don't think so.,   E: "then what is it?",  Me (regretfully going to look) "I think it's a blueberry".,  E: "oh.  hahahaha".   
• B: "that's a bad cough",  E: "where'd the good cough go?"

favorite baby stuff

All of a sudden I decided to try to be more organized about blogging this year.  We'll see how long it lasts. :)  So Wednesday is favorites day.  It won't be every Wednesday, but sometimes on Wednesdays I'll share some of our favorite things around the P house.  They may or may not have a genre all the time, but today's genre is baby stuff.

I LOVE these spoons.  We used them with E and I am remembering how much I liked them now that S is eating a little.  They are just the perfect design for a baby - not too deep or too shallow, not too hard or too soft.

This stuff is amazing.  S has had really dry skin, which E never had.  So I have tried several things, and really wanted to avoid any type of prescription or steroid cream if possible.  Love this stuff.  I'm thinking about buying a tube of it just for me. :)

Weird name.  Weird to use.  Awesome product.  A shout out to my friend Ellen for telling me about this.  It works a bazillion times better than any nose aspirator.  Yes, you actually suck the snot out of their nose.  S is not a fan, but E actually thinks its pretty cool and has been asking us to use the 'booger sucker'.  :)

baby love

S is so stinkin' cute!  He's almost 6 months old!  Of course these days his hair is thinning and looks more like a crazy comb-over, but he's still a cutie!  He is laughing, likes being tickled and talking cute baby talk, and growing so fast of course.  I really love this age around 5-6 months where they are really aware, and start playing with toys, and learning so many new things.  You can really have fun with him and he's still pretty easy to take everywhere. 

big brother E is pretty fond of him as well.  he likes to see what S is doing as soon as he hears him waking up.  a couple of times I have even caught him climbing into the crib.  He thinks S is funny and likes to mimic his baby talk.  It's pretty entertaining.  E is very helpful at handing S a toy or talking to him when he's upset.  And of course he enjoys telling S what to do and what not to do.

His favorite things right now are he LOVES being in the water, chewing on his fingers and toes, watching the dogs, and trying to grab/pinch your face.  He also likes to make you think you're rocking him to sleep and then all of a sudden pop his little head up, look at you, and smile and laugh.  It's so cute you can't be mad, no matter how tired you are. :) 

He's not crawling yet, but he really wants to!  He has figured out how to get across the room by scooting and rolling.  Not sure if I'm ready for him to crawl yet!

oops where did december go?  oh well. :)  E says "Christmas is over momma. :(  No tree, no star, no more stockings."  He really enjoyed it this year.

we had a great Christmas season.  celebrations with our class, small group, and friends.  most of those we forgot to take pictures at, but here's one...

 we've been having a Christmas dinner with these friends for 4 or 5 years now? something like that... back then there were only 8 or 9 of us.  :)  Now we're up to 17!  (one not pictured...)

 and we always make Christmas cookies with Nana

 he was a good helper this year.  just got a little flour on his shirt.

 we had a delicious Christmas brunch with my parents and Uncle L.  Very thankful for our family and our Savior's birth.
