silly boys

just some random pictures during some of our rainy days the past couple of weeks.

E has never wanted to wear rain boots before (or rain jackets, or regular jackets), but all of a sudden he's into it.

This one's a little blurry, but E thinks it's funny when S crawls after him.  He runs away screaming like S might really be able to catch him.  :)

 they're getting so big!

S can eat really mushy table foods now!  I'm so excited.  Its soooo much easier than baby food.

for some reason we stuck a shark in the playdo.

Cousin Jack came to visit!  We had such a good time with him and Aunt H.  and S sure did like trying to steal his paci.

One day we made a tent when we couldn't go outside to play.  That fun lasted about 1 hour. :)

this is the best picture I got in the tent.

favorites: reading

I have been reading a lot more lately.  Here are some favorites in case you needed suggestions:

FICTION:

Hunger Games, of course!  Best series I've read in a long time.  I think I read all three books in about a week.  No complaints.  They did a pretty good job with the movie too - I loved it.  And the second movie comes out on my birthday!

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.  This one was emotional,  strange, and lovely all at the same time.  I haven't seen the movie yet, but am looking forward to it.

NON-FICTION:

Grace-based Parenting.  I'm about 80% done with this one.  At first I thought 'eh, seems kind of similar to other things I've read'.  But the longer I read the better it got.  There's definitely some wisdom in there.

Resolution.  My friend Amy recommended this book to me and I've been reading a few chapters every week.  Priscilla Shirer can bring it.  Every single page is challenging and applicable.  I would recommend it to every woman I know.

enjoy!

some rain, some rodeo, and a couple other things.

we've been getting some rain lately!  so one of E's new favorite things is splashing in puddles.  especially if that means splashing one of us. :)

perfect landing.  tongue out.  airplane still in hand.

Then B took us to the rodeo to see all the animals and tractors.  Some more of our favorite things.
E enjoyed petting all the animals.  Here's the mama goat.

and super cute baby goat!
aren't they adorable?

and for some reason E really wanted to see a donkey.  we lucked out!

S was a trooper.  Or as B would say he's happy as long as he's with mommy.

checking out the trucks and tractors with B.

S is growing into such a cute little man.  and his hair is growing back!

he is crawling all over the place now and saying 'mama' 'mama' all the time.  his two favorite places are toward the dog door or to turn on the roomba.

this is him making his funny piggy snort noise. :)
oh- and I forgot to say last time that he has his two little bottom teeth!  we've started giving him some soft finger foods and he loves that.  I had forgotten the tricks of only giving a few at a time, and spreading them out across his tray to make the food last longer!
