summer recap

Apparently my camera was on a hiatus this summer too, because I did not take a lot of pictures...   But, here are a few funny ones to see some of what we did this summer.

we went to the zoo with friends!

 gave friends a ride...

raced around the house at Nana Camp

slept with our new giant bear from Uncle L & Aunt C

E took his first swim lessons right down the street from us.

he was always a little over-enthusiastic, but he did pretty well. :)

one day E decided that he wanted to wear his winter coat and watch a movie with ALL of his stuffed animals.

S spent a lot of time sitting in chairs (and just anything he can do by himself).

then discovered he could sit ON the table

also spent a lot of time opening/closing cabinets and drawers and scavenging for snacks.

then E wanted to jump on our bed with all of his tools in his pockets.  :)

E feeding S one of his last bottles.  what a good brother!

and we always love reading books!  and doing anything with daddy.

mostly it is just a lot of silliness around here. :)

boys are crazy

(at least ours are) :)

Here are the top ten things I never pictured myself saying as a mom (so far):

10.  No, you can't wear the same shirt every day
9.  Don't put your foot in the toilet
8.  Don't put your foot in your mouth
7.  No eating food while you're on the toilet
6.  Don't put your food on your feet (and vice versa)
5.  Don't try to ride babies like a horse
4.  No swords in the bed
3.  No, you can't drive yet
2.  No, you can't go poo poo outside
1.  Don't pee where you play

I just noticed most of those are about the potty...
If anyone (of my 10 readers :) is looking for a book about raising boys, this one has been awesome.
Wild Things: The Art of Nurturing Boys
Enjoy!

1st birthday!

So, we took a blogging hiatus this summer, and forgot to tell you that this little cutey turned one!

isn't he handsome? we had a small party at home to celebrate our crazy little man.

S had fun teasing Pops and playing with his glasses.

Excited about his first cupcake!  Of course big brother E and friends were there to help. :)

hmmm.... interesting...

 I think I like this.

owl cupcakes!

playing balloons with Nana

he got a new chair from Nana and Pops. he loved sitting in it and loved his card that played music.

then took a little bite out of the card. :)

he had fun with all of his gifts!

at that point he was walking a few steps just to get to something he wanted.   (now he's walking all over the place!)

he still loves to be held by his mama.

but talks nonstop about dada and looks around the house for him when he's at work.
(for some reason dada kept hiding from the camera, but we wanted to prove he was there :)

yay for birthdays!
