so much has happened

In the past 6 weeks our little baby S has grown and changed SO much!

started eating food at 6 months.  (avocado all over)

this is how we would find him after a nap.  just waiting to see who came in the room :)

and happy to see you!

then at 6.5 months we found him sitting up in his bed!  (note the brown hair.  and look at those legs!)

sitting up playing with our paci.  he much prefers his fingers.

then at 7 months he started crawling!  thankfully he's still pretty slow and just moves short distances so far :)

now that he can move and sit, he is all about trying to do whatever big brother E is doing.

we had seen him pull up in his bed a couple of times, and then last week we were finally able to catch him on the camera.  very proud of himself!  (and notice the blondish hair!)

and he is very loved by his big brother.  I told B the other day, that if my little brother cried as much as he does, I'm not sure I would be that fond of him.  But E loves him none the less.  Don't get me wrong though, when the crying comes, he will leave the room and/or cover his ears.  And tell him "nothing worry about", "Dada be home soon", or "I don't want you cry".  :)

personal faves

just for fun...

B found me some Maui Jim sunglasses on clearance for my birthday.  I usually just get some at Target for $15 because they get scratched or lost or something.  But these are awesome!  They're so light and comfortable and don't even give me a headache.  I may never be able to go back to the cheap ones.

My friend Susan gave me this nail polish and its my new fave.  The color is called chinchilly.

This was a Target splurge several months ago and I love it!  The only caveat is that people may look at you funny and ask why you're putting an Easter egg to your lips.  :)  Other than that its fabulous!

3!

We cannot believe it has been 3 years since E was born.  A lot of it is kind of a blur.  He has grown into such a little man and we love him to pieces.  He has such a fun personality.  He loves to say things dramatically and with different facial expressions.  He remembers EVERYTHING - especially if its a rule that someone else is not following!  He remembers somewhere we've only been once or how to walk home from the park, or something that happened months ago.  He has such an eye for detail - if a picture of the toy is on the box, he expects it to be not only in the package, but the same color and facial expression as the picture on the package.  Talk about quality control!  :)  He loves to read books, laugh at silly things, play rough with daddy (which B says is tackling practice for his future football career), see what his baby brother is doing, and do things 'by myself'.  He is such a sweet boy, and caring big brother, and a lot of fun to be around.  It is exciting to watch him grow up and see who God has designed him to be.  We definitely can't take any credit!

We won't have a big party every year, but he really enjoyed it this year and it was fun to do.  And all about Cars of course!

Decorations were pretty low-key.  I printed some signs I found on the internet, and hung some balloons.

Party favor bags I scored at the dollar store with some favors from the dollar spot at Target.  I used some pictures off the internet to make Pit Crew Passes for all of his friends.

And we taped a road on the floors throughout the house.

birthday boy ready to greet his guests!

 the food table!

we were thankful to have lots of friends join us to celebrate!

We had cake doughnuts instead of cake or cupcakes. They were a hit!

 E enjoying his birthday treats

and way too many presents. :)

It was so much fun!  We are extremely blessed and thankful.
