freaked out

S had his 2 month appointment with the doctor today.  I know everyone will be shocked to hear that he was in the 95th percentile for weight and the 90th percentile for height.  :)  He's doing great.  He is 24.25 inches long and weighs 14lb 4oz.  Our biggest struggle is that we kind of have to wrastle him to sleep most of the time (yes I spelled it that way on purpose).  He'll get really really worked up, and then finally give up and go to sleep.

Besides wrastling, one of his favorite things to do is make this really freaked out face:

 its pretty funny

 I haven't caught a really good smile yet, but here's kind of a half-smile

 just hanging out

I came home from the store and found them like this. :)  ha!  I told you he was hard to get to sleep.

comedian

In just a few short months our big boy has gone from maybe 50 words to saying (and repeating) everything.  Which can turn out to be quite hilarious.  He is very dramatic and quite the ham, with hand motions and facial expressions. And sometimes very assertive (some might even say bossy :) )

Some favorites include:
  • who's this dude?
  • I don't like this song (to whatever B happens to be singing)
  • I lost that one... I find it! It was in my hand!
  • Scrap, freight, express, coal, and various other train related words
  • No crying in E's room! (to his baby brother)
  • Whatchu doing, dada?
  • You go get it, my back hurts
  • oh, bother.  and  oh, dear.
  • okay, okay, okay (when we're picking on him)
  • I wuv you
He likes to quiz us about things he already knows:
E: "What does a cow say?"
Dada: "Moo"
E: "Yes. Moo. Good job!" followed by enthusiastic clapping  :)

Lastly, he has picked up sarcasm.  I have no idea where from. ;)  Sometimes when you ask him to do something he'll say "I'm sorry?" or "Excuse me?" That one almost made Pops spit out his dinner the other night.

Here we are with dada at the park

Potty training was an adventure a battle. Either he was more stubborn than other kids or we should have tried it sooner, but we made it to the other side!

and we love our cars.  (some of these were potty training rewards)  he likes to match each one up with their picture.  and of course we know all of their names.

I told him to smile in this one
No that was a sad face, let's try again.

We like to sort them by color, or type (bad guys, race cars, etc), or any other way we can think of.
He also likes to have the characters with him for whatever movie he is watching.  (not sure how Sir Topham Hat snuck in this one)

crazy kid.
